Amory Sivertson is back with a new full-length album of original music. Nights & Weekends is a bold step forward in every sense, a continuation of the adventurous songwriting and sonic experimentation of 2011’s Human, with all the aching vulnerability and clever lyricism listeners have come to expect. Produced by Sivertson and her longtime collaborator (and husband) Mike Moschetto, Nights & Weekends refers to when the record was cut and finds the pair – and a new cast of accompanists – exploring appropriately liminal spaces: guilt, grief, desire, regret, frustration and more, with everything from heart-on-sleeve directness to poetic sublimation.
